Living Room Wishlist

15 March 2019

I have been living in my two bedroom flat for four years now. Actually, that’s a lie. I’ve lived in the building for four years, first in a one-bed studio and then a year and a half ago we moved into this two bed. I adore it. The light that fills the living room is glorious and the ceiling high sash windows look down onto the high street which makes for great people watching over my morning coffee.

When we first moved into the studio flat we just panic bought the basics from Ikea with a budget of £500. We did not do it wisely and ended up only having £250 left for a sofa and it was the most uncomfortable, awkward sofa in existence. So when we moved into our two bed with a big separate living room, the first thing we did was invest in a good sofa. I fell in love with this grey one by French Connection from DFS. I adore it but I have now had to cover/baby proof it from sick up, fab. Along with the sofa we have slowly invested in a good, solid coffee table, desk and Dining table, and chairs which have turned the room around. I now need to update the tv unit, bookcases and add some more pieces. So here are a few bits I have my eye on.

Rug, Bookshelf, Unit, Barcart, Planter, Mirror

Coffee tables, Candle, Bell jar, Marble tray, Gold vase

As you can see the main element I'm going for is lots of wood and metal with pops of colour and textures. I cannot wait to style my shelves with knick-knacks and or favourite books and finally get that area of my living room sorted. Then I desperately need to work on styling the nesting coffee tables. At present they're holding books and candles but I am failing miserably as it's hard to make round tables look good and also practical at the same time.

Do you have any tips?
