Five Favourites from my Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar

07 January 2019

For Christmas 2018 my wonderful husband surprised and spoiled me with the coveted Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar. I couldn't believe my eyes when I unwrapped it and with all my pregnancy hormones in a jumble sat there and sobbed so much, he thought I didn't like it.

I've never tried any of the beauty advent calendars before and what an amazing one to start with. I mentioned each Christmas that I'd love to try one I sighed and oohed and aahed every time I saw one. He then very kindly spoilt me and got me one as my Christmas present.

I was so excited to get up every morning and am loved trying new brands. There was such an amazing range of skincare, beauty and even wellness supplies. One of my most used is a mini bottle of Suzanne Kaufmann Lavender De-Stress oil as a pregnant mama to be this has been amazing in the bath, dropped onto my pillow and sleep mask to help me get to sleep and growing a baby is rather uncomfortable, especially at night. Definitely going to invest in a bottle when this one runs out.

1. My ultimate favourite to come out of the calendar skincare wise was the Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser, which retails for £85. It's such a light formula that leaves your skin feeling nourished and sits nicely on  the skin. I feel it leaves my skin dewy rather than Illuminating but it's the same thing right? It has a lovely scent that makes me feel like I'm in a spa when I'm applying and makes turns my skin into a healthy base before applying foundation.

2. Next up on the skincare front was the Lixirskin Electrogel Cleanser (£25). I've been wanting try this range for a while now and still need to get my hands on the Vitamin C Paste. However I have really been enjoying this cleanser and using it as a mask. The packaging and scent is beautiful and I usually prefer a gel cleanser to a cream one but this still did the job for me. I have combination skin and definitely noticed my skin seemed a lot calmer after use.

3. I never thought I'd rave about a deodorant on here but I am loving this Malin + Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant. I've used it every day since taking it out of the little drawer and it is so nice to use. The smell is so refreshing and cooling under arms, it lasts throughout the day and you still get a whiff of the Eucalyptus whenever you move. I loved it so much I bought one for Mathieu as he's always playing sports and thought it would be a good addition to a gym bag.

4. I was more than excited to try out Aurelia Probiotic Skincare range in this calendar. I always walk past the pretty bottles in Space.NK but sometimes feel a little overwhelmed when I read the labels and ask myself if I need it. So the Revitalise and Brighten Eye Dew Roller was a welcome surprise. I have loved applying this at night and waking up to smooth, silky under eyes. I have been using it for a few weeks now and I am pretty confident in saying that my eyes look brighter underneath, something I feel is hard to accomplish. Definitely going to be holding onto this for those sleepless nights ahead of me with baby.

5. Last but not least was the absolute winner! In day 25's drawer was a 15ml spray bottle of LeLabo's perfume, Another 13. Now I have been coveting this brand for so long but have stopped myself due to already having a number of full perfume bottles that I need to get through first. So I loved receiving this. At £55 for 15ml it is not cheap but I see it as an artisan fragrance and I'm using it sparingly. It has a musky scent with hints of Amber which is my favourite note in a perfume. It reminds me a lot of the Molecules 01 perfume and love thats it lasts all day on my skin.

So there we have my 5 favourites! I'm aware that the price tag is £195 which is just unfathomable for some but this is my Christmas present and all I asked for this year is make up and skincare ready to help post baby Nicole.
