A New Year Skin Cleanse

05 January 2019

There’s always a theme with my Christmas list. It usually contains jewellery, perfume, vouchers to put towards furniture and skincare. This Christmas was no different and I finally got my hands on some bits that I’ve been after for a while.

So I’ve basically been trialling some of these products from the start of December and others since Christmas Day but here are a few of my thoughts on the ones that have been ticking all the boxes for me.

First up is the Kiehls Ginger leaf and hibiscus firming mask. This has been out for a while now but I finally got around to trying it and I am in love. I think it’s the first time I have honestly seen an improvement in my skin after one use! I thought it was a normal face mask and applied the buttery mixture to my face and then had a good long soak in the tub. I was about to wash it off when I realised it was an overnight mask. I don’t know if it was the extra help of the steam from the bath or just the product in general but my skin was dewy, baby soft and looked so healthy the morning after! I have been using it every other day since and it has fast become a firm fave.

Another product I have been dying to try was the Lixirskin Electrogel cleanser. I don’t know why I was drawn to this product as I’ve not heard much about it, maybe it’s the pretty packaging which hasn’t stopped me before. I got a tube of this in my Liberty advent calender and it is gorgeous. This feels glorious to apply and massage into the skin. I even left it on as a mask in the bath (do you see a trend here?) and my skin felt so clean after. I love a good cleanser that doesn’t patch the skin and makes you feel squeaky clean but in a good way.

Another from my Liberty calender that I’ve not let go of it the Votary Super seed nutrient cream. This moisturiser is a little rich but it I can still use it whenever I want. I either put it on before bed on top of my kiehls midnight recovery oil where I wake up to super hydrated skin or I put it on before my make up where it glides on, sinking into my skin with an almost mattefying finish but still manages to make your make up dewy and your skin hydrated. dreamy.

So after a good few weeks of over indulging and raging baby hormones, this lot has been getting me through it all.

Have you tried any of these?
