BRB Getting hitched

11 June 2018

So my wedding week has commenced! I tie the knot to my French boy on Saturday in a private ceremony in Edinburgh, and I couldn't be more excited. I don't know where the last year has gone but my wedding planning went by in a whirl! I'm taking two weeks away from the blog to focus on the festivities and traveling to our "mini moon" destination Paris next week! I can't wait to marry my best friend x

Thoughts On Wedding Beauty

09 June 2018

With nine days to go I still need to get my wedding beauty prep going. I have saved multiple pictures of what I want my wedding makeup to look like. They’re all very natural, neutral tones that also bro g out my eye colour according to my mua. I was deposed to be going to Charlotte tilbury to have a wedding package but that didn’t work out in the end so I’ve bought a load of CT and have asked my mua to basically use my fave product so it’s a win win.

Leading up to the wedding I’ve been having my hair lightened. My hair is a medium brown with auburny red tints throughout and I feel like it’s just too dark for my skin, often making me look washed out so I’ve opted to go for a chocolate brown and blonde balayage effect. I’m on my last treatment at a gorgeous Olaplex salon in Chester and can’t wait to get the final look I’ve been after.

I am booked in this weekend for natural looking eyelash extensions and a facial which is risky but I completely bloody forgot to book any earlier. I really want some longer, natural looking lashes as I’ve never had them before and it’s my wedding day so I want to feel and look like a bloody queen.

Next up is a spray tan. I’ve never had one before and I’m absolutely bloody dreading it but I am gliding to be a  bronze goddess on my wedding day if it’s the last thing I do, I will not be pasty!

Then three days before I tie the know I’m getting my nails and toes done. I daren’t have them done any sooner as I’m useless and they automatically ping off and smudge straight away with me.

The day before I want to have one last chop at the hairdressers to make sure I’ve got my hair at the length I want and also a little blow dry to make me fancy, then the stylist can do her thing the next day.

And last but not least, me and my girly members of the wedding party are thinking of booking in to the Balmoral on the morning of the big day to squeeze in some massages to unwind before getting ready.

Is there anything I’m forgetting?

A Paris To Do List

06 June 2018

In two weeks I will be on my "Mini Moon" to Paris! I am so excited, we'll only be spending a few days but I will be married to my best friend and in his home country where I can hear him speak fluently all day long! Dreamy. I have been to Paris a few times and I've always done lots of the very touristy stuff so I can't wait to just use this time to relax, forget the stress of wedding planning and enjoy a mini break together with Mathieu as we haven't had a holiday in so long. So this time we're trying to avoid the touristy bits and just wander and enjoy ourselves but as I like making lists there still a few things I want to tick off whilst I'm there.

The Moulin Rouge

I know I said no touristy stuff but this is what Mathieu really wants to do whilst we're there. He tried explaining it to me saying "it's the same as going to the theatres in Covent Garden, you have to do it" but I don't really need convincing!

Dinner at the Joules Verne

Okay this is another tourist spot but it's actually on my bucket list to eat on the Eiffel Tower so I hope I can tick this off whilst i'm there! Trés romantic.

Picnic by the Seine

Le sigh. As we're planning on mooching about and just exploring the city I suggested that we have a picnic next to the river. I'm talking baguettes, strawberries, cheese, wine, and of course he's french so he's not saying no.

Does this really need explaining? I mentioned that I wanted to visit this to Mathieu and he said no as we're on our "Honeymoon" but I will squeeze in half an hour if it's the last thing I bloody do!

I love shopping in Paris. It truly has some beautiful shops and boutiques, I can't wait to mooch around with Mathieu. I always like a quick wander down the Champs-Élysées and then another quick trip into the Galeries Lafayette. I don't stay too long there but like Harrods in London, I always take time to visit. I, of course, love the Pharmacies over there and can't wait to raid them, Mat thinks I'm mental and will never understand why I insist visiting them all.

Visit Versailles

I know this is another tourist spot but I hope we can squeeze this in! The Palace of Versaille is so so magical and I would love to visit it again as my last trip was so short. Hopefully it will be a hot Parisian Summer like last time I visited and we can picnic on the grounds.

Is there anything else I should add?

June To Do List

This month is a hectic one for me! Unless you haven’t noticed around here I haven’t stopped blabbing about my wedding which is happening in 15 days! Mental. So as a bride to be this month I have quite a few thinks to be ticking off.

Get married

Obviously I’m adding this on! I cannot wait to be tying the knot with my Frenchman. These six years have gone so fast and now we finally get to say I do! I’m not gonna lie but I do have some wedding jitters but they are definitely ones of excitement.

Get ready for Paris

After we get married we are spending a few days in Paris for a mini moon. We’re hoping to have a proper honey moon next year so for now we’re just having a little one. I need to get it all sorted as we’re flying from Chester to Edinburgh to get married then from Edinburgh to Paris then back to Chester so want it to go as smoothly as possible.

Sort out wedding make up/ treatments

So as we’re tying the knot in Edinburgh next on my todo list is to start booking in to get my nails done for the big day and also my hair (I’m thinking of having it a bit shorter for the wedding day). We’re also thinking of booking ourselves into the Balmoral on the morning of the wedding for some spa time and definitely having some massages to unwind before getting ready.

Packing for the wedding

I told you this to do list was all wedding based! I basically need to take everything for the wedding g to my friends to put in their van as they’re transporting all our bits and are driving it to Scotland for us.  Absolute babes. This means they’re taking our decorations for the ceremony such as lanterns, chair decorations, guestbooks and photo booth props, and our favours. They will also be taking our chairs for the outdoor ceremony so here’s hoping it’s not going to be a game of Tetris in that van!

Another thing I need to think about is packing for the whole trip. We fly to Edinburgh on the Thursday, have the wedding on the Saturday, then fly to Paris on the Monday! I seriously need to think out my packing situation!

So they’re a few of my important goals for this month! Here hoping I achieve them all!

Sixteen Days

I can’t believe that I am finally getting married in sixteen days. To my French man, my better half, my best friend. It’s a surreal feeling in all honesty, that I’m going to be with him for the rest of our lives, but I am so looking forward to it, the next step, our big adventure. There’s so many things I can’t wait for us to do together, all the holidays and experiences were going to have and all the stories we’re going to make, it  honestly has me so excited to walk down that aisle. I love him to bits even though sometimes it’s not always sunbeams and rainbows, he will never forgive me for that one time I got so mad at him, I threw an onion at his head but it makes me howl when we talk about it now and how crazy he can make me.

I can’t wait for all the next steps to come, to buy a home with you, to make our nest and eventually have our own little ones to run us ragged. I never saw myself having this life but you’re living proof of how you change me for the better.
